Job summary

Common Hearth is a vibrant food truck operating at Wandana Brewing Co. in the Northern Rivers. We focus on quality comfort food, using fresh local ingredients and delivering a relaxed, welcoming customer experience.

This hands-on role covers all daily operations from food prep and cooking to customer service, maintaining cleanliness and smooth service. You will work independently and as part of a small team, contributing to a fun, supportive environment with opportunities to grow as the business

Qualifications

• Experience in a commercial kitchen, café, restaurant or food truck preferred.
• Proficient in basic cooking techniques and food preparation.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Able to work independently and stay calm under pressure.
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Availability to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present food to a consistently high standard.
• Assist with daily food preparation and kitchen setup.
• Deliver efficient and friendly customer service.
• Manage customer orders and maintain smooth service during busy periods.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness.
• Assist with stock rotation, inventory management and minimising food waste.
• Complete opening and closing procedures.
• Maintain organisation and cleanliness throughout the food truck.
• Work collaboratively with the team to deliver an excellent customer experience.
• Assist with menu specials, events and functions when required.

Job description

This is a hands on position suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast paced, casual hospitality environment. You'll be involved in all aspects of daily food truck operations, from food preparation and cooking to customer service, maintaining cleanliness and ensuring smooth service. We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, works well independently and contributes positively to a small team.
