Job summary

Qualifications

• Certificate IV or higher in Commercial Cookery (three years of experience can be used in place of the qualification).
• About 1 year of experience in a relevant role.
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
• A deep understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Create and update menus that use seasonal ingredients and local produce.
• Collaborate with management to develop special menus for events and promotions.
• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes to high standards of quality and presentation, with attention to detail.
• Monitor portion sizes and consistency across all dishes served.
• Lead and supervise kitchen staff, and assist with training in food preparation techniques, safety and hygiene standards.
• Manage kitchen inventory and monitoring food costs.
• Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards.
• Assist in responding to customer feedback.
• Stay informed about culinary trends, experimenting with new recipes, and taking part in culinary events and workshops.
• Plan and execute catering for special events and private parties.
