Job summary

Compass Group Pty Limited is seeking a passionate Chef for a casual role at HMAS Albatross, Nowra. The position offers flexible casual shifts within a structured Defence kitchen environment and opportunities for ongoing training and development.

You will join a supportive team, handle buffet-style meal service across breakfast, lunch and dinner, and contribute to food safety and presentation standards in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery is required.
• Experience in commercial kitchens, catering or bulk food production is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, food safety and allergen management is essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality buffet-style meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner services.
• Support functions and special catering requirements as required.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene and HACCP standards.
• Support stock control, deliveries and kitchen operations.
• Ensure food quality, presentation and portion control standards are maintained.
• Work collaboratively as part of a professional kitchen team.
