Job summary

BlueCare is seeking a Chef (or highly experienced Cook) at the Gympie Aged Care Facility to deliver high-quality meals in line with dietary needs and food safety standards. The role focuses on balanced menus, presentation, and compliance with procedures, while enabling work-life balance in a growing industry.

The successful candidate will have trade qualifications, strong communication, and a keen eye for dietary requirements affecting residents.

Remuneration:$31.44 per hour + Super + Not for Profit Salary Packaging + Penalties & Allowances

About the role:

This is a great opportunity for a Chef or highly experienced Cook aiming to restore their work life balance and gain employment in one of Australia’s fastest growing industries with the following tasks:

Prepare, cook and serve food in adherence with dietary requirements with a strong focus on food safety standards.

Support senior hospitality staff members with menu design and implementation,

Promote quality standards and maintain service with standard operating procedures.

Role requirements:

As a Chef, you’ll take pride in your presentation, be knowledgeable in relation to nutrition and have a keen interest on the impact of dietary requirements on our aged residents.

You will have proven experience in safe food preparation, storage and delivery, a clear understanding of WHS, be confident in medium-high volume meal preparation and demonstrate the following:

Relevant trade qualifications or equivalent skills from previous experience

Great communication skills and excellent attention to detail

Understanding of Australian food and beverage standards

Confidence to satisfy the relevant probity checks required by legislation or policies
