Rivaan Enterprises Pty Ltd, trading as Soprano’s Pizza, Pasta & Grill Drouin, is seeking an experienced Chef to join its kitchen in Drouin, Victoria. You will prepare and cook a diverse menu, coordinating food preparation during service and ensuring consistent quality, flavour and presentation.

The role requires a Commercial Cookery qualification and 1–2 years in a commercial kitchen, with a focus on pizza, pasta, grill dishes, and safe kitchen operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen.
• Experience in pizza, pasta, grill environments highly regarded.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and cook a diverse range of menu items in accordance with recipes and presentation standards.
• Prepare pizzas, pasta, grilled dishes, chicken and meat, seafood and other restaurant meals during service.
• Monitor food preparation to maintain consistent quality, flavour and presentation.
• Inspect ingredients to ensure freshness and quality.
• Regulate cooking temperatures and operate ovens, grills, stovetops and other equipment safely.
• Season, portion and present dishes to established standards.
• Assist with menu planning, specials and estimating food requirements.
• Monitor ingredient usage and minimise food wastage through proper preparation.
• Ensure correct storage and rotation of ingredients and prepared foods.
• Coordinate food preparation activities and guide junior kitchen staff during service.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workstations and storage areas.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and WHS requirements.

About the Role

Soprano’s Pizza, Pasta & Grill Drouin is seeking an experienced Chef to join its kitchen team. The successful candidate will prepare and cook a diverse range of menu items, coordinate food preparation during service and maintain consistent standards of food quality, flavour, presentation and kitchen operations.

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary: $75,000 to $85,000 per annum plus Superannuation

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a diverse range of menu items in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards
• Prepare pizzas, pasta, grilled dishes, chicken and meat dishes, seafood and other restaurant meals as required during service
• Monitor food preparation and cooking processes to maintain consistent quality, flavour and presentation
• Inspect ingredients and food products to ensure freshness and appropriate quality
• Regulate cooking temperatures and operate ovens, grills, stovetops and other commercial kitchen equipment safely and effectively
• Season, portion and present dishes in accordance with established restaurant standards
• Assist with menu planning, specials and estimating food requirements
• Monitor ingredient usage and minimise food wastage through appropriate preparation and portion control
• Ensure ingredients and prepared food are stored, handled and rotated appropriately
• Coordinate food preparation activities and guide junior kitchen staff during service
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workstations, equipment and food storage areas
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements

Candidate Requirements

• Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery or a related discipline
• Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen
• Experience working in a pizza, pasta, grill or similar restaurant environment will be highly regarded
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and commercial kitchen operations
• Ability to maintain consistent food quality, flavour, portioning and presentation during busy service periods
• Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and safe food-handling practices
• Strong organisational, communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced restaurant environment
