St Vincent’s Care Services Carseldine is seeking a passionate Chef to join our team in a permanent part-time role, preparing nutritious meals for residents and contributing to diverse menus within a supportive aged care environment.

You will lead day-to-day production with kitchenhands, uphold food safety standards, and work closely with care teams to deliver quality dining experiences. We offer salary packaging options, training, and a friendly, mission-driven workplace.

Qualifications

• Permanent part-time role.
• Trade qualification in Commercial cooking or Chef.
• Experience with volume cooking in healthcare or similar environments.
• Strong knowledge of food services including chill production and dining service.
• Ability to lead day-to-day production with kitchenhands and ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Understanding of and compliance with food safety hygiene standards.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
• Willing to obtain Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (essential).
• Willing to obtain NDIS Worker Screening Check (essential).

About the Opportunity

We are looking for a passionate Chef to join our team at St Vincent’s Care Services Carseldine. Historically known as Holy Spirit Home, our 189-bed facility offers residents a supportive and welcoming environment, with Residential Living aged care, Independent Living and Community Living services all available at the same location.

Things that work for us

• Permanent part-time
• Trade qualification in Commercial cooking or Chef
• Experience with volume cooking such as hotels, healthcare and/or similar environments
• Excellent knowledge related to all facets of Food Services which includes but not limited to chill production and planning dining service
• Ability to lead day-to-day production with the assistance of the kitchenhands and accept responsibility for the smooth running of the kitchen
• Understanding of and compliance with food safety hygiene standards
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills
• Ability to follow directives as per care plan
