Job summary

Coral Expeditions is seeking a professional Chef to manage the galley on board and deliver meals to guests and crew per the menu plan. You will lead kitchen operations, maintain high standards of food quality, safety and presentation, and contribute to a hospitable guest experience on a small expedition ship.

Ideal candidates will have a Diploma in Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management, First Aid & CPR, and a passport.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in a commercial kitchen.
• Understanding of food cost and portion control.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent personal presentation.
• High level of customer service and a passion for food.
• Experience in day-to-day running of a kitchen/galley.
• Maintain product quality, presentation, food safety and consistency.
• Demonstrated safe working practices mindset.

Responsibilities

• Manage the galley in an efficient and effective manner to deliver meals per menu plan.
• Ensure timely delivery of quality meals to guests and crew.
• Maintain health and food safety standards on board.
• Operate with strong communication within the team and with guests.
• Adapt to the small vessel environment and long-term rosters.

Rosters will require a commitment of up to 6 weeks duration for domestic voyages and up to 8 weeks for international voyages.
