Job summary

City Logistics is seeking a meticulous and proactive Checker to join our Cape Town team. You will ensure returned stock is scanned, verify collections against waybills, and assist with loading, dispatch, and data capture.

The role requires a minimum of 2 years in logistics, good numerical and computer skills, and the ability to work under pressure. We value accuracy, integrity, and a can-do attitude as we uphold City Logistics’ operational procedures and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Matriculated with relevant logistics exposure.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Minimum of 2 years in a logistics environment.
• Knowledge of LMS or similar warehouse systems.
• Ability to sort stock geographically and accurately.
• Understand operational procedures and policies.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all returned stock is scanned back into the warehouse.
• IBTs and all collections are received in the depot or warehouse.
• Verify collections match collection waybills.
• Report irregularities to supervisor daily.
• Load and dispatch trucks; capture and scan data.
• Check freight off-linehaul and place in correct location.
• Ensure seals on each delivery and vehicle departure.
• Seal damaged cartons with security tape and QC sticker.

Introduction

City Logistics is seeking a meticulous and proactive individual to join our Cape Town team as a Checker.

• Ensure all returned stock is scanned back into the warehouse.
• IBT’s and all Collections are received in the depot or Warehouse.
• Ensure that all collections are complete and are corresponding with collection waybills.
• Report any irregularities to his/her superior daily.
• Responsible for loading and dispatching trucks.
• Responsible for capturing and scanning.
• Ensure that all freight received off linehaul vehicles is checked and scanned and placed into the correct location.
• Ensure that all freight loaded for delivery is checked and scanned into the delivery vehicle.
• Check and verify the content of all broken cartons.
• Ensure that seals are provided for each delivery & that the vehicle is sealed on departure from the warehouse.
• Ensure damaged cartons are sealed with City Logistics Security tape and a QC sticker is placed before loading for delivery.
• Matric.
• Knowledge of City Logistics Management System (LMS).
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in logistics environment.
• Knowledge in sorting stock into specific areas (geographical)
• Computer literate – Microsoft office, Excel.
• Understanding and awareness of City Logistics operational procedures, policies, and processes.
• Good verbal and written skills.
• Willing to work shifts & after hours.
• Must be able to work under pressure.
