Job summary

Char'd is seeking team members for Belfield, Eastern Creek and St Clair to manage charcoal pits and cook whole chickens. You will control all heat and timing to ensure birds are cooked to standard and served hot.

Casual, part-time and full-time shifts are available, with training provided for the right people. Reliability, safety and attention to detail are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Experience with charcoal grilling preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple batches and stay on schedule.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and handling.
• Dependable with punctual attendance and shift coverage.

Responsibilities

• Light, build and manage the charcoal so the pit holds the heat.
• Load, cook and carve whole chickens on the charcoal.
• Time each batch to demand so no chicken sits for long.
• Ensure all birds are cooked through to Char’d standard.
• Keep the pit, rotisserie and grill area clean and safe.

Job description

You own the charcoal at Char'd. Chickens marinated for 48 hours, cooked over real coals, and never held for more than 15 minutes. It's the job the whole shop is built around.

What you'll do

• Light, build and manage the charcoal so the pit holds the right heat all shift
• Load, cook and carve whole chickens on the charcoal
• Time each batch to demand so no chicken sits for more than 15 minutes
• Check every bird is cooked through and meets the Char'd standard
• Keep the pit, rotisserie and grill area clean and safe

What we're looking for

• Charcoal or grill experience is a plus, but we train the right people
• Comfortable working with fire and heat for a full shift
• Takes pride in cooking food properly, every time
• Reliable, on time and available for some nights and weekends
