Job summary

Commonwealth Bank is seeking a Chapter Lead (Executive Manager) to oversee Data Science and Gen AI model validation. You will lead a cross‑regional team, drive validation work, and build robust tooling and processes for scalable, compliant AI governance.

You will partner with executives, product owners, and governance experts to ensure safety, scalability and alignment with customer and regulatory expectations. This role emphasizes leadership and hands-on technical excellence.

Qualifications

• Leadership of multidisciplinary teams in Gen AI, data science, and software engineering.
• Agile project delivery and stakeholder communication.
• Automation and tooling development to optimize workflows.
• Curiosity and disciplined learning to stay ahead of AI risks and techniques.
• Knowledge of model risk governance is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead a chapter of data scientists across Australia and India, including hiring and coaching.
• Plan and run the chapter’s validation work with on-time delivery at a consistent quality bar.
• Lead the development of validation tooling and methods and challenge methodologies.
• Engage senior stakeholders, model owners, central AI teams and internal audit.
