Job summary

Approach Consulting Pty, a boutique Canberra-based CFO advisory firm, is seeking a Manager to Senior Manager to lead engagements in financial accounting, management accounting and costing. The role involves owning client relationships, guiding teams, and shaping the advisory practice across government and private-sector accounts.

You’ll work with senior staff, have real responsibility from day one, and explore a future equity path as the firm grows.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in financial accounting, management accounting and/or costing (CA, CPA or equivalent).
• A consulting background, ideally Big 4 or another recognised firm.
• Experience working with, or advising, Federal Government.
• Confidence managing clients and leading a team.
• Clear, commercial communication that doesn’t hide behind jargon.
• Australian citizenship / ability to obtain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Running financial accounting, management accounting and costing projects for Federal Government clients.
• Owning client relationships, from scoping through to delivery and follow-on work.
• Reviewing and signing off work, and coaching the team.
• Helping win new work and grow existing accounts.
• Having a say in how the firm builds and runs its advisory practice.
