Job summary

Otraco International is seeking an experienced Tyre Technician for Brockman 4 in WA to undertake planned and reactive tyre changes on a range of mobile mining equipment. You will support workshop, stock and operations onsite to ensure the contracted scope is delivered to a high standard.

Key requirements include a minimum of 2 years Earthmover tyre fitting on mine sites, Certificate II in Automotive Mechanical Tyre Fitting Heavy (AUR21916/21920), a valid HR licence and a current forklift ticket.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years Earthmover tyre fitting on mine sites.
• HR Driving licence.
• Current WorkSafe forklift licence.
• Ability to work under pressure with a strong safety focus.
• Capable of autonomous work when required.

Responsibilities

• Undertake planned and reactive tyre changes on mobile mining equipment.
• Perform routine inspections and assess wheel components; record data in tyre management system.
• Maintain correct pressures per site specifications.
• Promote safety culture across site operations.

Job description

In Australia alone, we have a presence on over 47 mining operations, and, due to continued growth and internal movement, we currently require an experienced OTR Tyre Technician for our Brockman 4 operations in WA:

THE POSITION

As Tyre Technician you undertake planned and reactive tyre changes/maintenance on a range of mobile mining equipment. You will provide a high level of continuous service on site by supporting the operations of the workshop, office, stock and personnel, ensuring the contracted scope of work is performed and maintained to a high standard.Duties include:

• Undertaking planned and reactive tyre changes on a range of mobile mining equipment
• Performing routine inspections and assessing wheel components to remain in service; entering data into our revolutionary tyre management system
• Maintaining pressures and quality in accordance to site specifications
• Upholding our commitment to providing an excellent level of service to our clients
• Actively promoting a safety culture across site operations

ROLE DETAILS:

• Based at Brockman 4
• 8:6 roster
• 12.5 hr D/N
• Small team of technicians
• Large single tyre bay with great facilities with approval for a second tyre pad to be built.
• Komatsu 830E / 830-5 Primary Fleet

ABOUT YOU

• Preferably a minimum of 2 years of Earthmover tyre fitting experience on mine sites
• A Certificate II in Automotive Mechanical Tyre Fitting Heavy; AUR21916/ AUR21920
• A valid HR Driving licence
• A current WorkSafe forklift licence
• Possess a high level of initiative and the ability to work well under pressure
• An understanding that safety is paramount, with a high attention to detail to abide by site safety procedures
• Ability to work autonomously when required
