Job summary

Otraco is seeking an experienced Tyre Technician for our Boggabri mine site in NSW. This role involves planned and reactive tyre changes on mobile mining equipment and maintaining site tyre pressures to specification.

The successful candidate will have tyre fitting on mine sites (≥1 year), relevant certificates, a valid Open Class licence, and a strong safety mindset. DIDO role; region-based residence preferred.

Qualifications

• Preferably a minimum of 1 years of Earthmover tyre fitting experience on mine sites.
• A Certificate II in Automotive Mechanical Tyre Fitting Heavy; AUR21916/ AUR21920.
• A valid Open Class driving licence.
• Possess a high level of initiative and the ability to work well under pressure.
• An understanding that safety is paramount, with a high attention to detail to abide by site safety procedures.
• Possess a high level of maturity, initiative and the ability to work well under pressure.
• Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace training or Frontline Management would be desirable

Responsibilities

• Undertaking planned and reactive tyre changes on a range of mobile mining equipment
• Performing routine inspections and assessing wheel components to remain in service; entering data into our revolutionary tyre management system
• Maintaining pressures and quality in accordance to site specifications

Job description

In Australia alone, we have a presence on over 45 mining operations and, due to continued growth and internal movement, we currently require an experienced OTR Tyre Technician for our Boggabri mine site in the Gunnedah basin NSW – This is a DIDO role – no camp facilities provided. Ideal candidates must live in the region.

The position

As Tyre Technician you undertake planned and reactive tyre changes/maintenance on a range of mobile mining equipment. You will provide a high level of continuous service on site by supporting the operations of the workshop, office, stock and personnel, ensuring the contracted scope of work is performed and maintained to a high standard.Duties include:

• Undertaking planned and reactive tyre changes on a range of mobile mining equipment
• Performing routine inspections and assessing wheel components to remain in service; entering data into our revolutionary tyre management system
• Maintaining pressures and quality in accordance to site specifications
• Upholding our commitment to providing an excellent level of service to our clients

About you
