Job summary

Facility Management Association of Australia (FMA) in Melbourne seeks a dynamic Chief Executive Officer to lead strategy, advocacy and performance for a lean, high-impact organisation. You will be the public face, shaping policy influence and delivering value to members.

You will drive the strategic plan with the Board, oversee budgets, growth in membership and professional standards, and lead a small team while partnering with industry leaders and sponsors.

Qualifications

• Proven track record leading organisations or significant business units.
• Experience in a not-for-profit or professional membership body is preferred.
• Strong commercial acumen and governance experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of the Association's strategic plan with the Board.
• Drive advocacy and government relations to strengthen the industry’s voice in policy and regulation.
• Oversee financial management, budgeting, and sustainable revenue growth.
• Grow and retain membership across individual and corporate categories.
• Lead a small, high-performing team and foster a culture of excellence.
• Deliver professional development, education and competency standards for the profession.
• Build and maintain relationships with industry leaders, sponsors and international partners.
