Job summary

Australian Red Cross Lifeblood in Melbourne is seeking a Centre Service Officer to warmly welcome donors, guide them through paperwork, and keep the donor refreshment area stocked. You’ll contribute to a welcoming, efficient centre environment and support smooth operation across the donor centre.

You will use strong computer literacy to manage donor information across multiple systems and work with the team on a rotating roster, Monday to Sunday.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience delivering excellent customer service.
• Working knowledge of safe food handling procedures.
• Previous experience in customer service, retail or hospitality (desirable).
• Strong computer literacy and ability to manage multiple systems accurately.

Responsibilities

• Provide clear instructions and support to donors in completing required paperwork.
• Prepare and replenish food and beverages, maintaining the donor refreshment area.

About the role

OurMelbourneDonor Centre is seeking a Centre Service Officer with a genuine passion to deliver an exceptional service to our donors. Working collaboratively in a team, a day in the centre could see you:

• Warmly greet and welcome donors, ensuring a positive donation experience
• Provide clear instructions and support to donors in completing required paperwork
• Prepare and replenish food and beverages, maintaining the donor refreshment area
• Monitor donors post-donation and assist with rebooking future appointmentsDemonstrate strong computer literacy, accurately managing donor information and navigating multiple systems
• Work collaboratively with the wider team to ensure smooth day-to-day centre operations

Our flexible self-paced paid training program has a balance between on-the-job practice, and online class schedules to ensure that you are well supported. Besides having a real passion to deliver an amazing donor experience, you’ll need to be able to provide:

• Demonstrated experience delivering excellent customer service
• Working knowledge of safe food handling procedures
• Previous experience in customer service, retail or hospitality (desirable)
• Strong computer literacy and ability to manage multiple systems accurately
• Ability to occasionally lift items weighing 9–22.7 kg
• Frequent sitting, bending, and reaching to restock supplies in the kitchen
• Flexible to work 4 shifts per fortnight on a rotating roster Monday to Sunday
