Job summary

Lifeblood is seeking a Registered Nurse to support our Warrnambool Donor Centre. You will greet donors, ensure eligibility, provide clinical oversight, and guide the team through blood collection procedures, ensuring a safe and positive donor experience.

You will perform routine tests, set up equipment, manage adverse reactions, and help donors schedule future donations. A flexible fortnightly roster from Tue to Sat is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent) with current AHPRA registration.
• Flexible to work varied shifts on a fortnightly rotating roster from Tuesday to Saturday.
• Occasionally lift between 9-22.7kg.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interview potential donors to understand eligibility and suitability to donate.
• Provide clinical oversight and guide other team members in the blood collection process.
• Complete routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests.
• Set up machines and collections equipment.
• Insert and remove needles safely to collect whole blood, plasma, and platelets.
• Manage adverse donor reactions by providing instructions and physical assistance.
• Monitor donors post-donation and assist them to rebook for their next donation.
