Job summary

Indigo Early Learning Centre is seeking a Centre Cook in Woombye to prepare fresh, nutritious vegetarian meals for young children, with careful attention to allergies and dietary requirements, in a supportive team.

You will follow rotating menus, manage kitchen records and supplies, and work closely with educators and leadership to provide healthy food experiences. A Blue Card is required or willingness to obtain one; Food Safety Supervisor certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience cooking in an early childhood service or similar environment.
• Food Safety Supervisor certification, or willingness to obtain it.
• Strong understanding of allergies, dietary requirements and safe food preparation.
• Confidence preparing nutritious vegetarian meals.
• Warm, reliable and collaborative approach.
• Current Blue Card or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious vegetarian meals and snacks.

Are you passionate about preparing nutritious, wholesome meals and creating positive food experiences for young children?

Indigo Early Learning Centre Woombye is looking for a warm, organised and enthusiastic Centre Cook to join our supportive team on a permanent part-time basis.

About the role

As our Centre Cook, you will prepare fresh, nutritious vegetarian meals and snacks for the children each day. You will play an important role in supporting children’s health and wellbeing while ensuring individual allergies, dietary requirements and cultural needs are carefully managed.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and serving nutritious vegetarian meals and snacks
• Following the centre’s rotating menu and assisting with menu planning
• Managing allergies, intolerances and individual dietary requirements
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised kitchen
• Completing required food safety records and documentation
• Monitoring kitchen supplies and placing orders within budget
• Ensuring food is stored, prepared and served safely
• Working collaboratively with educators and the centre leadership team
• Creating positive and engaging food experiences for children

About you
