Job summary

St John of God Bendigo Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Cath Lab team on a permanent full-time, part-time or casual basis. This role focuses on cardiac and interventional cardiology nursing with exposure to diagnostic and interventional procedures.

You will provide pre-, intra- and post-procedural care, collaborate with cardiologists and the multidisciplinary team, and support patients and families throughout the procedural journey.

Qualifications

• Five years or more post-registration nursing experience.
• Experience in Cath Lab, cardiac, coronary care or procedural settings preferred.
• Current AHPRA registration and ongoing professional development.
• Strong clinical assessment, judgment and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centred nursing care for diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures.
• Conduct comprehensive pre-procedure assessments including history, meds review and risk assessment.
• Deliver pre-, intra- and post-procedural nursing care within the Cath Lab.
• Monitor patients during procedures and respond quickly to clinical changes.
• Assist with patient positioning and ensure equipment and resources are ready.
• Administer medications and therapies within scope of practice and policies.
• Document care accurately and provide clear handover to the team.
• Support discharge planning and patient education post-procedure.
