Job summary

Cater Care is seeking a friendly and reliable Catering Assistant to join our aged care team at our Horsham site in Victoria. This part-time role offers flexible hours and a supportive environment focused on delivering high-quality meal services to residents and staff.

You will assist with meal preparation, service, and kitchen hygiene, while upholding food safety standards and presenting meals with care. Training is provided to support your development.

Qualifications

• Experience in food preparation or customer service.
• Experience in contract catering, aged care, or health care environments is desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Flu vaccination and National Criminal History Check, or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assemble food items including salads and sandwiches.
• Assist with meal service, presentation and customer service.
• Restock supplies before, during, and after service.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas including dishwashing.
• Set tables and assist with plating and distribution.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and assemble food items including salads, sandwiches, and texture-modified meals
• Assist with meal service, ensuring a high standard of presentation and customer service
• Restock supplies before, during, and after service periods
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas, including dishwashing duties
• Set tables and assist with plating and meal distribution

About You

• Previous experience in food preparation and/or customer service
• Experience in contract catering, aged care, healthcare, or food service environments is desirable
