Job summary

UnitingSA is seeking a part-time or casual Catering Assistant to join friendly teams across Residential Aged Care facilities in the Western and Northern suburbs of Adelaide. You will support food preparation, serving meals, and assist in the café and servery while focusing on resident care and satisfaction.

The role requires flexibility, strong teamwork, and a commitment to safe, nutritious dining. Full working rights in Australia are essential, with DHS NDIS screening also required.

Qualifications

• We require full working rights in Australia - essential.
• Must have DHS NDIS Worker Screening Check – essential.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in hospitality including aged care, hospitals, cafés, pubs or similar.
• Certificate II in Hospitality (or equivalent) or relevant industry experience.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Passionate about providing excellent care and dining experiences.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation and general kitchenhand duties.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised kitchen environment.
• Serve meals with care and professionalism.
• Work in the servery and onsite café, delivering great customer service.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Catering Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in creating awarm, welcoming dining experience for our residents. Your day mightinclude:

• Assisting with food preparation and general kitchenhand duties
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised kitchenenvironment
• Serving meals with care and professionalism
• Working in the servery and onsite café,providing excellent customer service
• Supporting residents' dietary, cultural, and mealpreferences
• Working closely with chefs and the catering team to deliverquality meals
• Contributing ideas to enhance service and residentsatisfaction

What We’re Looking For

We’d love to hear from you if you:

• Have full working rights in Australia - essential
• Hold a current DHS NDIS Worker ScreeningCheck – essential
• Have a minimum of 2 years' experience inhospitality, including experience in agedcare, hospitals, cafés, pubs, or similarcustomer service environments -essential
