Job summary

BaptistCare is seeking a Casual Catering Assistant for our aged care residences in NSW. You’ll support daily kitchen operations, prepare light refreshments, serve meals, maintain cleanliness and ensure food safety standards are met.

You'll join a warm, welcoming dining team and enjoy an hourly rate of $29.98 plus 25% casual loading and 12% super, with flexible work arrangements and study and wellbeing benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience working with food.
• Experience with cleaning and safe use of chemicals.
• Strong communication skills.
• Good time management and ability to work under pressure.
• Empathy, patience and a genuine interest in supporting older people.
• Commitment to safe work practices and BaptistCare’s values.
• Availability to work Mondays and Tuesdays.

Responsibilities

• Food service, table service and maintaining cleanliness in kitchen and dining areas.
• Assisting with food preparation and reheating meals as directed.
• Ensuring correct meals reach residents at the right time and temperature.
• Supporting dietary needs and following the site Food Safety Program.
• Operating POS/EFTPOS when required.
• Working safely and following WHS and infection control procedures.

About the Role

As a Casual Catering Assistant, you’ll help create a warm, welcoming dining experience for residents at our Macquarie Park group of homes. You’ll support daily kitchen operations by preparing light refreshments, serving meals, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring food safety standards are met. Your work helps residents feel cared for, respected and at home.

Key responsibilities include:

• Food service, table service and maintaining cleanliness in kitchen and dining areas
• Assisting with food preparation and reheating meals as directed
• Ensuring correct meals reach residents at the right time and temperature
• Supporting dietary needs and following the site Food Safety Program
• Operating POS/EFTPOS when required
• Working safely and following WHS and infection control procedures
