Job summary

BaptistCare Griffith Centre in Canberra is seeking a friendly Catering Assistant to join a compassionate team. Based at Griffith Centre, you will serve meals, maintain clean dining areas, and support residents with respectful service in a busy aged care environment.

This casual, on-site role offers a variety of shifts Monday–Friday, opportunities for growth, and salary packaging benefits. You will follow the site Food Safety Program and contribute to high-quality care with empathy.

Responsibilities

• Serve food and beverages.
• Clean kitchen/dining/café areas and equipment.

• Cater to dietary requirements and follow the site Food Safety Program.

About the Role:

Our new 130 bed Griffith Centre in Canberra is conveniently located near the CBD, Lake Burley Griffin, shopping precincts and local parks. This energy efficient and environmentally sustainable building has been designed to ensure we can meet the care needs of the local community now and into the future.

As a Catering assistant, your duties will include:

• Serve food and beverages
• Clean kitchen/dining/café areas and equipment
• Take orders and operate POS and EFTPOS systems (if applicable)
• Assist with food preparation and reheating meals
• Ensure meals are delivered correctly and on time
• Cater to dietary requirements and follow the site Food Safety Program

We offer a competitive salary based on your previous experience from $27.77 - $31.36/hr + superannuation + penalties + salary packaging.
