Job summary

Premier Fresh Australia in Melbourne is seeking a highly motivated Category Manager with proven commercial acumen to champion our fresh produce brands. You will build robust relationships with customers and growers, partner across the business, manage supply and demand in a fast-paced supply chain, and drive sales growth in new and existing markets.

This role requires strong English communication, a hands-on approach, and a readiness to work outside ordinary hours.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in sales or management within fresh produce.
• Strong commercial and negotiation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Ability to drive the sales process from plan to close.
• Understanding of seasonality and operational needs in fresh produce.

Responsibilities

We currently have an opportunity for a highly motivated and passionate Category Manager with proven commercial acumen, hands-on in approach, and someone that will champion our vision within a dynamic and ambitious team.

About the role

The key responsibilities of this role include:

• Building and promoting robust, sustained customer; and strategic grower relationships.
• Partnering/liaising with a variety of internal and external stakeholders across the business and fresh produce industry.
• Managing supply and demand within a fast-paced fresh produce supply chain environment.
• Hands-on management of day-to-day activities of the respective category, to support and deliver customer expectations.
• Propose and successfully pursue business opportunities.
• Maximising sales revenue in new and existing markets.
• Monitor competition through market analysis to enhance sales.

About you

The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following attributes:

• Strong commercial and negotiation skills.
• Seasoned Knowledge; 5+ years’ experience as a successful Sales Representative or Manager within fresh produce.
• Great Communicator; with excellent written and verbal English skills.
• Motivated and Responsive; you have an aptitude to drive the sales process from plan to close.
• Ambitious; ready to meet and exceed sale expectations.
• Multi-tasker: you have the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment by prioritising your tasks.
• Understanding fresh produce seasonality and subsequent operational needs.

We are a 7-day continuous operation and are looking to place the successful candidate in a flexible capacity, that will require work outside of ordinary hours.An attractive remuneration package will be negotiated to reflect your experience and your value offering to the business.
