Job summary

Fresh Produce Group in Sydney’s markets head office is seeking an experienced Category/Account Manager to coordinate day-to-day management across produce categories and major retail accounts. You will liaise with growers and suppliers, drive profitability, and ensure service levels meet customer expectations.

You will work with cross-functional teams to develop category plans, adapt to market changes, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of stock, pricing, and regulations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in a similar role or industry.
• Degree in Agribusiness, Agriculture, Business, Economics, or Communications is desirable.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Self-driven, goal-oriented, and adaptable.
• Profitability, stock control, and sales forecasting knowledge.
• Ability to work cross-functionally in a team.
• Proficient with office programs.

Responsibilities

• Managing an effective grower/producer supply base
• Identify and execute upon new Business Development opportunities.
• Understand and interpret marketing insights metrics.
• Negotiating and purchasing product
• Maintaining up to date knowledge of stock volumes, pricing, quality, international regulations and customer information for each of the categories/customers
• Engaging with the supply chain - including the packing sheds, transport and logistics team
• Ensuring agreed service levels are in line with the customer’s expectations
• Contributing to the development of Category and Account Plan
• Be the brand ambassador for FPG with the customer and supplier

About the Team

Made up of Graduates right through to Category Managers and Executives, FPG's Commercial team have a large exposure across the business. The team consists of experienced produce experts with diverse professional backgrounds. Working within this group, you will be immersed in the industry whilst gaining practical mentorship, knowledge, and exposure. From building relationships with local and international suppliers and customers to working across many produce varieties, you will have genuine opportunities for development. About the Role

Being engrained in our Commercial Team based at our Sydney Markets Head Office is an opportunity for an experienced Category/Account Manager who is keen to further develop their career in the Fresh Produce Industry. About You

We are looking for an excellent communicator who thrives in a face paced, dynamic environment.

• 3+ years’ experience working in a similar role or industry
• Degree or qualification in Agribusiness, Agriculture, Business, Economics, Communications, Supply Chain or similar (desirable but not essential)
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
• Someone who is self-driven, goal focussed, takes initiative, and is adaptable.
• Strong business acumen particularly relating to profitability, stock control and sales forecasting
• Ability to work cross-functionally as a team within a business
• Excellent computer skills (Intermediate with office programs)
• Fresh produce or FMCG sales with account management experience (desirable but not essential)
• Experience working with large supermarket chains (desirable but not essential)
