As the Category Insights Specialist you will turn sales, customer, category, promotional and market data into actionable insights that drive business performance. Working across Product & Category, Trading Goods and Channel Marketing, you will identify growth opportunities, optimise category performance and support data-driven decision-making. Your responsibilities will include:

Deliver actionable category, sales and customer insights through analysis of revenue, volume, margin and market performance.

Monitor product portfolios, range performance and SKU trends to identify growth opportunities and support optimisation decisions.

Analyse competitor activity, pricing, promotions and market trends to provide commercial recommendations and strategic insights.

Evaluate promotional campaigns, supplier initiatives and customer performance to measure effectiveness and maximise return on investment.

Develop and maintain business intelligence dashboards, automated reporting and performance reporting to support data-driven decision making.

Partner with stakeholders to identify commercial opportunities, assess business risks and support strategic projects, business cases and growth initiatives.

Have You Got What We’re Looking For?

Degree in Business, Commerce, Marketing, Economics, Statistics, Data Analytics or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated commercial analytics experience

Experience in commercial, category, business or marketing analytics, with the ability to turn data into actionable business insights.

Strong analytical and commercial acumen, with experience identifying trends, risks and growth opportunities from sales and performance data.

Advanced Excel and reporting skills, including experience developing dashboards and performance reporting (Power BI experience highly regarded).

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence decision-making across multiple business functions.

Experience within FMCG, retail, hardware, manufacturing or consumer goods environments, with exposure to category, portfolio or promotional analysis viewed favorably.

A proactive, detail-oriented and collaborative approach, with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
