Job summary

Tassal Group is seeking a commercially curious Category Executive to join the Commercial team and shape category growth across the Australian grocery channel. You will transform retailer, shopper and market data into insights to guide category decisions and support retail partnerships.

In this role, you’ll develop evidence-based stories, contribute to category reviews, and present insights to internal teams and retail customers.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in FMCG (Category, Sales, Marketing or similar commercial function).
• Strong analytical capability – translate data into decisions.
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; data visualisation tools valued.
• Experience with market data providers (Circana, NIQ or equivalent).
• Excellent communication; detail-oriented; accurate reporting.

Responsibilities

• Analyse retailer data to identify category opportunities and threats.
• Work with retailer data platforms to understand customer behaviour and support recommendations.
• Support promotional analysis and assess effectiveness; inform future activity.
• Build data-driven stories for retailer negotiations, range reviews and initiatives.
• Prepare regular category and performance reporting with accuracy.
• Present findings to internal teams and retail partners in accessible way.
• Respond to ad-hoc business requests from Sales, Marketing and Leadership.
• Support external research partners and build category knowledge across the team.
