Job summary

Tassal Group is seeking a commercially curious Category Executive to join our Commercial team in Australia. You will transform retailer, shopper and market data into actionable insights to support category growth and retailer partnerships.

In this fast-paced FMCG environment you’ll work with real data, support category range reviews, build evidence-based stories and present insights to internal teams and retail customers.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in FMCG or similar commercial function.
• Strong analytical capability with data-to-decision translation.
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; data viz tools valued.
• Experience with market data providers (Circana/NIQ) or shopper data counts.
• Food/fresh produce FMCG experience is helpful.
• Excellent communication and ability to explain analyses clearly.
• Detail-oriented with accuracy in reporting and recommendations.
• Curious, proactive mindset with interest in growing in category management.

Responsibilities

• Analyse retailer data, consumer panels, shopper behaviour and market trends to identify opportunities.
• Use retailer data platforms to understand customer behaviour and support recommendations.
• Support promotional analysis and optimise future activity.
• Build data-driven stories for negotiations, range reviews and category initiatives.
• Prepare regular category and performance reporting with accuracy.
• Present findings to internal teams and retail partners clearly.
• Respond to ad-hoc business requests from Sales, Marketing and Leadership.
• Support external research partners and build category knowledge across the team.
