Job summary

WesTrac Tweed Heads is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform on-site maintenance, repairs, diagnostics and component changes on CAT equipment. You will conduct inspections, diagnose faults and ensure equipment reliability in line with customer priorities.

The role requires an Australian-recognised mechanical trade, rebuild/overhaul experience, and a safety-first mindset. A current licence and field service mindset will help you thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Australian-recognised mechanical trade (e.g., Cert III HD Plant)
• Proven rebuilds/major component overhaul/assembly experience
• CAT or comparable surface mining gear; strong diagnostics/fault-finding
• Proactive, safety-first mindset; unrestricted driver’s licence
• Field Service Experience (Highly regarded)

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting and component replacements on CAT equipment
• Conduct inspections, diagnostics and quality checks to identify faults and ensure equipment reliability
• Complete scheduled maintenance and field service activities in line with customer requirements and operational priorities
• Maintain a safe, organised work environment in the field while collaborating with Supervisors, planners and site personnel
