Job summary

Harbour City Veterinary Surgery in Gladstone, QLD is seeking a casual Veterinary Nurse to join our busy rural clinic. This role offers approximately 30 hours per week with a potential pathway to a permanent position.

Join our supportive team for hospital and surgical nursing, anaesthesia, radiology and client care, with opportunities to mentor colleagues in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or a Veterinary Technology degree.
• At least 2 years of veterinary nursing experience.
• Strong surgical and anaesthesia nursing skills.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Positive attitude and willingness to mentor colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Anaesthetic monitoring and patient care.
• Pre- and post-operative nursing.
• Collecting and processing blood and urine samples using IDEXX equipment.
• Dental procedures.
• Radiology assistance.
• Administering medications and treatments.
• Patient admissions and discharges.
• Assisting with cleaning and reception duties as required.
