Job summary

Chisholm Institute of TAFE – Hmas Cerberus VIC is seeking Casual Teachers for Defence subjects (Electrical, Electronics and Communication). You will design and deliver engaging lessons, align materials with regulatory standards, and create a safe, inclusive learning environment for students.

The role requires certification and currency in vocational teaching, and you will contribute to program delivery while undertaking essential pre-employment checks and safety screening.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122) or equivalent qualifications.
• Vocational qualifications at AQF level relevant to teaching.
• Registration with relevant professional bodies as required for the teaching discipline.
• Evidence of Vocational Competency and Professional Currency.

Responsibilities

• Plan education practices and delivery sessions that reflect the most effective way to engage learners.
• Ensure teaching materials meet regulatory standards, training packages and related requirements.
• Establish and maintain a positive learning environment and encourage learner responsibility.
• Adapt learning materials to cater for different students, environments and resources.
• Undertake administrative, coordination and learning services activities related to the areas taught.
• Assist in establishing, maintaining and reviewing teaching programs.
• Maintain a respectful and safe environment free from discrimination, bullying and harassment.

As a teacher, your key responsibilities include:

• Plan education practices and delivery sessions that reflect the most effective way to engage learners
• Ensure that teaching materials and resources meet all regulatory standards, training packages and related requirements
• Establish and maintain a positive learning environment, including encouraging students to take responsibility for their own learning
• Adapt learning and assessment materials to cater for different students, learning environments, facilities, and resources
• Undertake a range of administrative, coordination, and learning services activities directly related to the areas taught
• Assist in relation to the establishment, maintenance, and review of teaching programs
• Maintain a respectful, and safe environment free from discrimination, bullying and harassment

About You

You are a highly motivated individual with well-developed skills in transferring knowledge, including the ability to research, select and use a wide range of learning resources and assessment tools.

Qualifications required for the role:

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122) or qualifications that meet the Standards for RTOs 2025
• Vocational qualifications at AQF level relevant to the level of teaching required
• Vocational currency as demonstrated through a range of work and related experience
• Registration with relevant professional bodies as required for the teaching discipline
• A record of Vocational Competency, mapped to Units of Competency engaged to deliver
• A record of Professional Currency, demonstrating current industry and teaching knowledge
