Job summary

SACARE in Salisbury, SA is seeking experienced Casual Support Workers to join our Supported Independent Living home. You will empower participants to achieve goals and support their individual care needs, including personal care, meals, and community access in a safe, structured setting.

Ideal candidates have NDIS and Working With Children checks, First Aid with CPR, and a passion for de-escalation, teamwork and documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting participants with high and complex behaviours of concern.
• Experience in SIL, residential, facility or accommodation-based disability support.
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
• Current DHS Working With Children Check.
• Current First Aid Certificate with CPR; Manual Handling training.

We are currently seeking experienced Casual Support Workers to join our team at our Supported Independent Living (SIL) home in Salisbury. This role is ideally suited to support workers who have experience working with participants who present with high and complex behaviours of concern within a facility-based or supported accommodation setting.

The successful candidates will possess the relevant skills, qualifications and experience to provide high-quality, individualised care and support while promoting participant choice, independence and wellbeing.

You will empower participants to achieve their goals and support their individual care needs, including:

• Personal care and daily living support

• Implementing personalised support strategies and behaviour support plans
• Providing positive behaviour support to participants with complex needs and high behaviours of concern
• Supporting participants within a SIL environment while maintaining a safe, structured and therapeutic setting
• Accurately documenting participant progress, incidents and support provided

What do I need?

• Demonstrated experience supporting participants with high and complex behaviours of concern, mental health challenges and/or psychosocial disabilities
• Experience working within a Supported Independent Living (SIL), residential, facility or accommodation-based disability support setting
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Current DHS Working With Children Check
• Current First Aid Certificate with up-to-date CPR
• Current Manual Handling Certificate
• Unrestricted Driver's Licence
• Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, Aged Care or a similar qualification
• Basic Continence Aid Training (completed face-to-face through an RTO)
• Assistance with Medication Training (completed face-to-face through an RTO)
• Strong communication, de-escalation and participant engagement skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment
