Job summary

Melbourne Recital Centre is seeking a casual Stage Manager to deliver concerts and events. The role involves directing rostered technical teams and production staff, and liaising with artists, agents and hirers to ensure smooth performances.

Applicants should have stage management or production experience in performing arts settings, knowledge of music presentation, and strong IT skills (Word/Excel/Outlook). First Aid and RSA are desirable; rolling applications.

Qualifications

• Experience in stage management, event management, or production for performing arts venues (essential).
• Knowledge of presenting music across genres and production requirements (essential).
• Broad knowledge of production fields including audio, lighting, projection, AV and staging (essential).
• Ability to manage people, stay organized, set priorities, and work under pressure (essential).
• Strong problem solving and initiative (essential).
• Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication in English (essential).

Responsibilities

• Deliver concerts and events as the primary responsibility.
• Manage, support and direct rostered technical team and production personnel.
• Liaise with artists, agents, tour managers, hirers and other Centre users.
• Ensure tasks are completed within agreed timeframes and quality standards.
