Job summary

The Salvation Army Australia is seeking a casual Sales Assistant to support day-to-day store operations and deliver an engaging in-store experience in Yass, NSW. Reporting to the Area Manager, this role follows the Retail General Industry Award, Level 1, and involves weekend rosters.

Key duties include POS operation, donation processing, merchandising, and delivering outstanding customer service to the community. Flexibility to work across locations and a values-driven approach are important.

Qualifications

• Retail sales experience is valued but not essential.
• Strong customer service skills are required.
• High energy and effective communication with a diverse audience.

Responsibilities

• Retail sales and operation of Point of Sale devices
• Sort, price and prepare donations for sale
• Assist in visual merchandising and store presentation
• Provide exceptional customer service
• Display stock in correct departments per policy
• Follow OH&S policy and procedures
• Demonstrate Salvation Army core values in all activities
