Role Description

The Casual Retail Assistant is a part-time, on-site role based in Double Bay, NSW. The role involves welcoming customers, offering product knowledge, and providing attentive service to help clients select South Sea Pearl and fine jewellery pieces that suit their needs and style. Daily tasks include maintaining store presentation, handling point-of-sale transactions, managing stock and displays, and assisting with visual merchandising. The successful candidate will also support promotional activities, uphold brand standards, and contribute to a positive, inclusive team environment.

Qualifications

• Customer service and retail sales skills, with the ability to engage clients professionally and build strong relationships.
• Product knowledge and visual merchandising skills, including an interest in jewellery, fashion, and luxury retail presentation.
• Communication and interpersonal skills, with clear spoken English and a respectful, inclusive approach to diverse customers and colleagues.
• Organizational and time-management skills, including attention to detail when handling stock, displays, and transactions.
• Basic point-of-sale and cash-handling skills, with comfort using retail systems and following established procedures.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, work flexible hours (including weekends), and contribute positively to a small team environment.
• Previous retail or customer-facing experience in fashion, jewellery, or luxury goods is advantageous but not essential.
