Healthcare Australia invites applications for a Casual Residential Youth Worker to support children and young people in out-of-home care. You will help create a safe, nurturing environment while aiding life skills, resilience, and positive connections.

Rosters are planned in advance for flexibility and consistent shifts, including emergency and ad hoc work. Ideal candidates hold or study towards a Certificate IV in Youth Work or related field, with Australian Driver's Licence, Blue Card/WWCC,

Qualifications

• Hold (or be studying towards) a Certificate IV in Youth Work, Child, Youth and Family Intervention, Social Work or similar.
• Australian Drivers Licence (OPEN). Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
• Current First Aid & CPR certificate.
• Police Check.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people.
• Create a safe, supportive, and trauma-informed environment.
• Support daily living tasks including meals, personal care, hygiene, and routines.
• Encourage independence, emotional regulation, and social development.
• Assist with school attendance, appointments, and community participation.
• Administer medication and maintain accurate case notes/documentation.
• Support complex behaviours using trauma-informed practices and TCI strategies.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and care plans.
• Participate in ongoing training, supervision, and reflective practice.
