Job summary

Bega Group is seeking a Casual Bulk Production Operator for the Lagoon Street site in NSW. The role involves supporting day-to-day manufacturing activities across cheese, maturation, milk receivals, whey powder, and butter departments.

You will operate processing equipment, monitor lines, and perform cleaning while upholding food safety, quality, and safety standards. Flexibility to work across multiple production areas and shifts is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor production lines across bulk cheese, maturation, milk receivals, whey powder, and butter departments.
• Perform sampling and testing of products and complete log sheets accurately.
• Maintain housekeeping and hygiene standards on site.
• Provide training to other employees where required.
• Follow SOPs and safety policies at all times.

The Role

Our Lagoon Street site is situated in the Bega Valley Shire and is the original site of Bega Cheese. Located on the beautiful Sapphire coast, far south coast of NSW, Lagoon Street is still producing Australia's favourite cheese products – cheddar cheese, string cheese as well as butter.

The Casual Bulk Production Operator supports day to day manufacturing activities across bulk cheese, maturation, milk receivals, whey powder, and butter departments.

This role involves operating and monitoring processing equipment, performing cleaning and sanitation tasks, and maintaining high standards of food safety, quality, and workplace safety.

The position requires flexibility to work across multiple production areas and variable shift times, the ability to follow standard operating procedures, and a strong team-focused attitude in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Respect and observe the Bega Cheese values and Policies and Procedures. Follow Bega Cheese Standard operating procedures.
• Monitor and operate production lines, troubleshoot and report any issues. Monitor the process and reject non-conforming product.
• Correct sampling and testing of products and accurately completing log sheets.
• Ensure worksite is maintained in accordance with housekeeping procedures.
• Provide training to other employees where required.

About You

• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Basic computer skill (Excel, Words, PPT, etc)
• Team collaboration and ability to work independently.
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills
• Strong time management skills and ability to work under pressure.
