Job summary

Alexandra District Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Pre-operative Scrub/Scout, Anaesthetic and PACU team in a casual capacity. You will coordinate patient care within the perioperative suite and support partners in care planning and decision making.

You will work with multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure safe, efficient care during anaesthesia and surgery, and provide pre-emptive care, escalation as needed, with opportunities for ongoing professional development

Qualifications

• Advanced clinical skills in anaesthesia support and perioperative care.
• Ability to assist anaesthetists and surgeons safely during surgery.
• Good communication across multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care in the Pre-operative Scrub/Scout, Anaesthetic and PACU team.
• Assist the anaesthetist and surgeon to ensure safe and efficient perioperative care.
• Provide pre-emptive care and escalate issues as needed, with attention to comorbidities.
