Job summary

Bishop Tyrrell Anglican College in Fletcher, NSW invites applications for an OSHC Educator on a casual basis. Diploma essential with experience in Out of School Hours Care/Vacation Care is preferred.

Hours include morning and afternoon shifts, with extended coverage during vacation care periods. You will work within a supportive team and contribute to high-quality programs for students while adhering to regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Essential Diploma in Early Childhood or equivalent.
• First Aid qualification for Education and Care settings.
• ACECQA approved anaphylaxis and asthma training.
• Valid Working with Children Check.
• Accredited Child Protection Training.
• Willingness to assume Nominated Supervisor role under regulations.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive relationships with children, families and staff.
• Contribute to educational program under OSHC Coordinator direction.
• Assist with smooth OSHC operation in line with policies and regulations.

Location: Fletcher, NSW

Casual positions available (Diploma essential)

Hours: 6:30 am - 8:30 am Mon - Fri (Mornings), 2:30 pm - 6:00 pm Mon-Fri (Afternoons), 6:30 am - 6:00 pm Mon - Fri (vacation care)

The OOSH Educator is a member of the Bishop Tyrrell Anglican College Team. The role is primarily responsible for:

• Build and maintain positive relationships with children, families, educators, staff and management to deliver best outcomes for families and children
• Contribute to the educational program under the direction of the OSHC Coordinator/Educational Leader to provide a high-quality program for all children
• Assist with the smooth running of the OSHC service in line with relevant regulations, policies and procedures under the direction of the OSHC Coordinator/Nominated Supervisor

Essential criteria:

• Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent)
• Current Provide an Emergency First Aid response in an Education and Care Setting qualification
• Current ACECQA approved Anaphylaxis and emergency asthma management training
• Valid Working with Children Check
• Accredited Child Protection Training
• Be willing to accept the role of Nominated Supervisor under the Education and Care Services National Law Application Bill 2010 and Education and Care Services National Regulations

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in an Out of School Hours Care/Vacation Care Service.
• Previous experience in administrative procedure, curriculum development, parent and community liaison.
• Understanding and working knowledge of WHS legislation
• Demonstrated knowledge of service’s requirements of the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) system and ability to perform software application for compliance
