Job summary

Newcastle Anglican Schools Corporation – Fletcher NSW is seeking casual OOSH Educators to support Bishop Tyrrell Anglican College’s before/after school care. You will help build relationships with children and families and contribute to a high-quality educational program.

Role requires a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent), emergency first aid in education and care, WWCC, and CCS compliance knowledge. Casual hours across mornings, afternoons, and vacation care available.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent).
• First Aid in Education and Care setting (Emergency response).
• ACECQA approved Anaphylaxis and emergency asthma management training.
• Working with Children Check (WWCC).
• Accredited Child Protection Training.
• Willing to accept Nominated Supervisor role under National Law and Regulations.

  • 6:30 am - 8:30 am Mon - Fri (Mornings),
  • 2:30 pm - 6:00 pm Mon-Fri (Afternoons),
  • 6:30 am - 6:00 pm Mon - Fri (vacation care)

About the role

The OOSH Educator is a member of the Bishop Tyrrell Anglican College Team. The role is primarily responsible for:

• Build and maintain positive relationships with children, families, educators, staff and management to deliver best outcomes for families and children
• Contribute to the educational program under the direction of the OOSH Coordinator/Educational Leader to provide a high-quality program for all children

Assist with the smooth running of the OOSH service in line with relevant regulations, policies and procedures under the direction of the OOSH Coordinator/Nominated Supervisor

• Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent)
• Current Provide an Emergency First Aid response in an Education and Care Setting qualification

• Be willing to accept the role of Nominated Supervisor under the Education and Care Services National Law Application Bill 2010 and Education and Care Services National Regulations

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in an Out of School Hours Care/Vacation Care Service.
• Previous experience in administrative procedure, curriculum development, parent and community liaison.
• Understanding and working knowledge of WHS legislation
• Demonstrated knowledge of service’s requirements of the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) system and ability to perform software application for compliance
