Job summary

Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN) invites Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander nursing students to join the CALHN nursing team as an Assistant in Nursing, gaining hands-on experience alongside Enrolled and Registered Nurses. You’ll build confidence, develop clinical skills and make a meaningful difference for patients.

You’ll work within your scope, support patient care, learn on the job, and benefit from guidance and mentorship as you continue your studies.

Qualifications

• Be Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and enrolled in an approved nursing program.
• Have completed at least the first year of nursing study by commencement date.
• Hold current student registration with Ahpra.
• Complete CALHN training for safe and competent practice.
• Meet SA Health employment requirements for the role.
• This pool is established to redress under-representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Responsibilities

• Support patient care and assist with nursing duties within your scope of practice.
• Learn on the job within a supportive team and build relationships with patients and healthcare professionals.
• Receive guidance and mentorship to grow your skills while continuing studies.
