Job summary

WISE Employment is seeking casual Support Workers to deliver NDIS services across the inner east Melbourne region, including Malvern, Glen Iris, Burwood and surrounding areas.

You will engage participants in the community, support their individualised plans and goals, help them attend community events, and explore work through supported placements while learning to use public transport as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience working with people with a disability in any setting, professional or life experience.
• Solid understanding of disability and its impact on social relationships, independence and daily living.
• Experience supporting participants with individualised plans and goals with a capacity-building focus.

Responsibilities

• Engage participants in the community and support their individual plans and goals.
• Assist participants to attend community events and identify work placements or volunteering opportunities.
• Help participants learn to use public transport and access relevant resources.
• Collaborate with a small team to provide person-centred supports.
