Job summary

The Women’s and Children’s Health Network (WCHN) is seeking an Assistant in Midwifery to join the casual pool at Adelaide CBD. You will support midwives and registered nurses, helping deliver safe, compassionate care to women, babies and families during their maternity journey.

Eligible candidates are undergraduate midwifery students (2nd year+). You should have good communication, teamwork, and a willingness to participate in a multidisciplinary team within a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Be enrolled as an undergraduate student in a midwifery program (2nd year or above).
• Experience in nursing/midwifery care within healthcare settings.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Understand the role of Assistant in Midwifery in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Assist Midwives with routine tasks and activities of daily living.
• Set up for nursing procedures, clean equipment, manage local stock.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Follow guidelines and standards for care.
• Provide person-centred care.
