Job summary

Richmond Tweed Regional Library is seeking a Library Assistant in Ballina on a casual pool basis to support a multi-skilled team. You will help maintain collections, assist customers, run children’s programs, and operate automated information systems, contributing to a welcoming library environment.

The role offers casual hours with opportunities for training, development, and progression within the library network. Applicants must meet WWCC requirements and have good interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Higher School Certificate or equivalent.
• Australian Citizenship or appropriate VISA to work in Australia.
• Current Class C Drivers License.
• NSW Working with Children Check.
• Good interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills.
• Good numeracy, literacy, accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Participating in process and service improvements projects in the team.
• Using automated information systems and databases.
• Communicating effectively with library patrons to meet their information needs.
• Contribute to promotion, programs and other related activities.
• Create a working environment where safety and wellbeing are priorities for all.
