Job summary

Deakin University in Geelong is seeking a reliable Kitchen Hand to support day-to-day operations of the Waurn Ponds Estate kitchen. Reporting to the Chef in Charge, you will help keep the kitchen clean, safe and efficient while assisting with basic food preparation and service.

You will work in a flexible casual setup, require a Working with Children Check, and be available between 9:30am and 8:00pm. This role offers a supportive team environment within a renowned university campus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months experience in food preparation or food service.
• Ability to work quickly in a busy environment.
• Demonstrates a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitation standards
• Washing and sanitising dishes, glassware, utensils, and kitchen equipment
• Clean and maintain kitchen floors, including sweeping, scrubbing and mopping
• Keeping the kitchen, dish area, and storage areas clean and organised
• Organise and maintain pantry shelving
• Remove hard rubbish and kitchen food waste using our closed-loop compost machine
• Assist with basic food preparation and food service tasks as required
• Adhere to health and hygiene standards at all times

Our Waurn Ponds Estate hospitality team is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Kitchen Hand to support the day-to-day operations of our kitchen team. Reporting to the Chef in Charge, you'll play an important role in maintaining a clean, safe and efficient kitchen while assisting with food preparation and service.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitation standards
