Job summary

Hannah St. Hotel Melbourne is seeking a Casual Kitchen Hand to join the busy kitchen team. You will assist with dishwashing, keep work areas clean, and support chefs with basic prep to ensure smooth service.

This role requires flexibility to work across rotating shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays, in a fast-paced hotel kitchen. Bring a positive attitude, good teamwork, and a solid understanding of food safety.

Qualifications

• A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• An understanding of food safety, hygiene and safe work practices.
• Ability to safely use kitchen equipment and follow cleaning procedures.
• Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• Previous experience maintaining kitchen cleanliness or supporting food preparation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with dishwashing and maintain clean kitchen equipment and work areas.
• Help our chefs with basic food preparation and kitchen set-up as required.
• Keep workstations and food preparation areas clean, organised and hygienic.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures.
• Assist with receiving, storing and rotating stock when required.
• Work collaboratively with the wider kitchen and Food & Beverage team.
• Help create a positive, supportive kitchen environment.
