Job summary

Ingenia Communities Group is seeking a Casual Grounds & Maintenance Officer for Cairns Coconut Holidays, with shifts Monday to Friday from 4pm to 8pm. You’ll help keep the park safe, clean, and welcoming, performing general maintenance across facilities and outdoor areas.

You’ll diagnose issues, perform basic repairs, and respond to guest requests. A current C class driver licence and hands-on experience in maintenance are preferred.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in general maintenance, facilities, building services or handyman work.
• Ability to troubleshoot and perform repairs safely to high standards.
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety and use of tools/chemicals; refer to licensed trade when needed.
• Organised and proactive with ability to prioritise urgent requests while handling planned maintenance.
• Clear communication and positive relationships with residents, guests, contractors and team.

Responsibilities

• Complete scheduled, preventative and reactive maintenance across accommodation, amenities, facilities and shared areas.
• Diagnose maintenance issues and carry out general repairs (plumbing, carpentry, painting, fixtures, lighting, fencing, BBQs).
• Respond to guest maintenance requests with practical solutions and escalate as needed.
• Conduct routine inspections and safety checks; identify hazards and report incidents to maintain compliance.
• Maintain tools and maintenance areas; keep spaces safe, neat, and ready for use.
• Support the wider team with site presentation and grounds tasks during busy periods.
