Job summary

Dementia Care Queensland is seeking compassionate support workers in Caboolture, Queensland, to assist adults with disabilities and the elderly in our local community. This casual role focuses on helping clients live independently and improving their quality of life.

Responsibilities include household tasks, social engagement, advocacy, and accurate record-keeping, with emphasis on following policies and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications in aged care, disability support, or a related field.
• Certificate III in aged care, disability support, or a related field is optimal.
• Previous experience with elderly or disabled people.
• Minimum of 6 months' experience with elderly or disabled people is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Empathy, patience and a genuine desire to help others.
• Reliable, flexible, and able to work independently or with a team.
• A current driver's licence and reliable transport.
• Current First Aid certification is required at commencement.
• Candidates must have valid Australian work authorisation.

Responsibilities

• Help with household tasks such as cleaning, cooking, and laundry.
• Provide social and emotional support, engaging clients in activities and outings.
• Advocate for clients and liaise with families, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate client records and documentation.
• Adhere to workplace policies, procedures, and quality standards.
