Job summary

Engineers Australia in Canberra is seeking an Events and Admin Assistant for the ACT Division. This casual role supports the delivery of CPD sessions, networking functions, STEM initiatives and community outreach, with on-site event setup, registrations, AV checks and venue upkeep.

You will assist with off-site advocacy events, maintain attendance records, stakeholder liaison, and provide general office support.

Qualifications

• Studying or qualified in a relevant field, with events or hospitality experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic events environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, host, and support events including catering, registration and AV setup.
• Operate and maintain AV equipment during events (microphones, PCs, projectors).
• Coordinate stakeholders and guests; manage registrations and off-site activities.
• Provide general office administration and event reporting.
• Ensure safety procedures and WHS requirements are followed; maintain attendance records.
