Responsabilidades

• Plan and implement age-appropriate learning activities supporting physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.
• Support routines and transitions throughout the day, including meals and rest times.
• Build positive relationships with children and families and share observations of progress.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment following health and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent care and continuity of learning.
• Adapt activities to meet diverse learners’ needs and interests.

Glen Iris Childcare and Kindergarten is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Casual Educators to join our team in Glen Iris, VIC 3146. This is a casual position that offers flexibility and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's early learning and development. As a Casual Educator, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care, education, and support to children in our centre, working alongside our permanent staff to create a nurturing and stimulating environment. This position is perfect for educators seeking flexible work arrangements whilst maintaining their commitment to early childhood education and care.

Key responsibilities

• Providing safe, nurturing care and supervision for children in accordance with legislative requirements and centre policies


• Planning, implementing and evaluating age-appropriate learning activities that promote children's physical, social, emotional and cognitive development


• Supporting children's transitions and routines throughout the day, including meals, rest times and personal care


• Building positive relationships with children and their families, maintaining open communication and sharing observations of children's progress


• Maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic environment, following health and safety protocols and duty of care responsibilities


• Collaborating with colleagues to ensure consistency of care practices and continuity of learning


• Responding to children's individual needs and interests, adapting activities and approaches to support diverse learners


• Contributing to a positive and inclusive centre culture that respects and celebrates diversity


• Maintaining accurate documentation and records as required by the centre and regulatory standards

What we're looking for

• Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain one prior to commencement


• Relevant qualifications in Early Childhood Education and Care (such as a Diploma or Certificate III/IV in Children's Services) or equivalent experience


• A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development and wellbeing


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues


• Demonstrated knowledge of early childhood education frameworks and best practice in childcare


• Physical ability to actively engage with children, including lifting, bending and participating in play-based activities


• Flexibility and adaptability to work across different age groups and respond to the varying needs of the centre


• A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries


• Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement)


• Reliability and punctuality, with the ability to be on standby for casual shifts
