Job summary

Grow Together Early Learning Centre in Marrickville, NSW, seeks a Casual Educator (Certificate III/Diploma) to work across all age groups (0–6 years) as a floating educator. You will cover gaps, assist programming time, and help maintain educator-to-child ratios in a warm, collaborative setting.

The role requires a minimum of 1 year in ECEC, a current Working With Children Check, and knowledge of EYLF/NQS. Flexible casual shifts and ongoing support are offered to help you grow.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care is required.
• Minimum 1 year of paid experience in the ECEC sector.
• Current Working With Children Check.
• Current Child Protection Training Certificate.
• Knowledge of EYLF, NQS and Education and Care Regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide support across all age groups (0–2, 2–3, 3–5 years) to maintain educator-to-child ratios.
• Cover staff breaks, programming time, and leave as needed.
• Support creation of a safe, engaging, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
• Build positive relationships with children, families and staff.
• Assist with daily routines including meals, sleep, hygiene and wellbeing.
• Contribute to a safe, healthy, welcoming centre environment.
• Collaborate with the team to meet National Quality Framework standards.

We are currently seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, reliable, and caring Casual Certificate III/Diploma Educator to join our dedicated team. This is a flexible opportunity for an educator who enjoys working across different age groups while supporting children's learning, development, and wellbeing in a warm and collaborative environment.

About the Role

As a Casual Educator, you will work as a floating educator across all age groups (0–2, 2–3, and 3–5 years), providing support wherever it is needed throughout the centre. Your shifts will vary based on operational needs, including covering staff leave, supporting programming time, maintaining educator-to-child ratios, and assisting during busy periods.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, is adaptable, and thrives in a team-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide support across all learning environments to maintain educator-to-child ratios.

• Cover staff breaks, programming and administrative time, and planned or unplanned leave.

• Support the creation of a safe, engaging, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.

• Build positive and respectful relationships with children, families, and fellow educators.

• Assist with children's daily routines, including meals, sleep, hygiene, and general wellbeing.

• Contribute to maintaining a safe, healthy, and welcoming centre environment.

• Support compliance with the National Quality Framework, including the National Quality Standard (NQS) and Education and Care Services National Regulations.

• Work collaboratively with the team to provide high-quality education and care.

About You

You are passionate about working with children and committed to providing high-quality education and care. You are flexible, reliable, and enjoy working across different age groups while supporting your team wherever needed.

You will have:

• Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care.

• Minimum 1 year of paid experience working in the Early Childhood Education and Care sector.

• Current Working With Children Check.

• Current Child Protection Training Certificate.

• Knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), National Quality Standard (NQS), and Education and Care Services National Regulations.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• The ability to work collaboratively as part of a professional team.

• Flexibility to accept casual shifts, sometimes at short notice.
